New ‘AskMID’ service to help motor accident victims

The Motor Insurers' Bureau (MIB) has released a new service to help people involved in accidents. Make sure you know how to use it.

The Motor Insurers’ Bureau has released a new service to help those involved in motor vehicle accidents ensure they have accurate information about the insurance position of other parties involved. The new service enables ‘smart phone’ users to get free and instant access to the insurance details of the other party at the scene of the accident.

The Motor Insurers’ Bureau have released a short video to explain how the service works.

How to use the service:

1. Visit www.askMID.com from your smart mobile device
2. Enter:
- Your email address
- Your vehicle's registration number
- The third party vehicle's registration number
3. Receive confirmation of insurer and contact details (on screen and to your email address)
